Russian Orthodox Chotki

We are happy to make and sell chotki prayer ropes (also known as 'komboskini'), traditionally handmade in the Russian Orthodox style, from black wool. They are made by highly skilled craftsmen, so their quality is one of the best you'll find anywhere. Considering that our prices are quite good for the quality we deliver (you can buy a 33-knot wrist bracelet for $10), we believe that you should take a few minutes from your time and take a closer look over our offer.

Chotkis are made out of knots, with divider beads (using traditional wool)

We make the chotkis from wool tied knots, not beads. Even though silk is widely used by others, we prefer to respect and follow the monastic tradition of making them. The wool is supposed to remind us that we are rational sheep of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, and also a reminder of the Lamb of God Who takes away our sins. This tradition dates back to the first centuries of Christianity, when Saint Pachomius had a vision in which an angel recommended to him to pray the Jesus Prayer, using a knotted cord of one hundred.
